On the occasion of her visit in Luxembourg to present her book at the Ernster bookstore, Marie-Anne Chabin, a renowned expert archivist and author of the book: “Des documents d’archives aux traces numériques – Identifier et conserver ce qui engage l’entreprise – La Méthode ARCATEG™”, met with Labgroup’s archivists on Wednesday, 23 October 2019.
During this morning, organised in the City Hotel premises in Luxembourg-city, Labgroup’s archivists and Marie-Anne Chabin spoke about the ARCATEG™ method that she developed in 2003, a few years after the creation of her consulting firm Archive 17.
They also talked about their experience and asked specific questions about the method.
The Arcateg™ method explained in her book, enables to organise in a simple and sustainable way the informational production of any entity, regardless of its size, mission, geographical scope and history. It allows categorising data and documents from their creation according to their value for the organisation, in terms of risk over time and the responsibility of decision-makers.
The ambition of this book? Help companies and administrations to improve their information system by structuring document and data production while facilitating security management, personal data protection and access to the content.
In short, a great opportunity for Labgroup’s archivists to meet the creator of their method of work, and for Marie-Anne Chabin a good opportunity to discuss with professionals who apply her method on a daily basis.
Marie-Anne Chabin, based in Paris, advises companies thanks to the Arcateg™ method and teaches risk data management at the Paris8 University, after a first career in the French Public Archives. Author of several books and press articles Marie-Anne Chabin is also known to be a diplomatic analyst and a provocative writer via her personal blog site: http://www.marieannechabin.fr/
